I'm fundraising in memory of Dr Bex Lewis
The only reason I know as much as I do about Secondary Breast Cancer is because of my friend Dr Bex Lewis and the information she publicly shared, before she became one of the 31 people that die each day from Metastatic Breast Cancer.
I'm fundraising to help Make 2nds Count raise vital funds. With these funds they can continue to raise awareness of this incurable disease, fund research to find a cure and support all those affected by Secondary Breast Cancer.

Lyme Park
Tuesday 30th Mar I got the chance to do today’s walk at the beautiful Lyme Park. The sun was shining and some of my tiny tribe were going anyway. At first I thought that I should stay at my desk but as a person that regularly stares at my screen for over 12 hours a day this seemed like a good opportunity to get out in the sunshine. None of us know how many spring times we will actually see, and although people regularly say that they should make the most of their time and live for the day, usually we don’t, but today instead of turning down the chance to spend time with my family, I made the choice to jump in my daughter’s car and do my 2km in the beautiful grounds of Lyme Park. I actually did just over 3km and got to enjoy a couple of hours in the sunshine. It seemed to be one way to #BeMoreBex I definitely think I made the right choice - now I just need to remember to add my miles to this website. At the moment it looks as though I’ve only done 7km! ShareLong Walk and A Catch Up With My Tiny Tribe
Monday 22nd Mar After an incident with the dog I haven’t done any evening walks so I ended up a little behind on my 2K a day so this weekend I managed to catch up during daylight hours. After confessing on a Zoom call that I’d never been to the Roman Lakes in Marple, despite living nearby for over 25 years I decided to make that one of my destinations this weekend. 2 members of my tiny tribe accompanied me from Romiley to Etherow Park. We chatted all the way and waved at Captain America as he rode past in his motorbike, complete with shield and briefly saw the ducks and geese before they went home and I set off towards the lakes. After conquering the giant hill from Marple Bridge (and having to overtake some dawdling family groups by RUNNING uphill) I caught up with a few more members of my tiny tribe and we got to explore some of the ruins, saw some swans, marvelled at the size of the viaduct and of course looked at the lakes. After the lakes we shared a walk along a precarious riverside path back to Marple Bridge, where I waved goodbye and set off back to Romiley Village. I’d be lying if I said that my legs weren’t hurting (a lot) as I huffed and puffed my way up the hill from Compstall but the most important thing is that I did it and caught up on my missing kilometres.Today’s Special Guest
